I found the best combination of monitor stand/arm for my 49 inches Ultra-Wide (ultra wide or ultrawide, however you want to write it ) curved Samsung Odyssey G9 monitor and that is the Ergotron HX Desk Monitor Arm Stand and the Ergotron Heavy Duty Tilt Pivot with added strength for big monitors.

I was not happy with the standard leg/stand my Samsung Odyssey G9 Ultrawide monitor came with as it took too much space on the desk so I had to get a proper heavy duty monitor arm for this monster screen which reminds of Portal.

The G9 weights 32.2 lb / 14.6 kg which is pretty heavy for most monitor arms, but its main tricky bit is the curvature which shifts the gravity centre way forward and therefore the amount of stress applied to the pivot head is massive.

Most pivot heads would not take this load, some may succeed, but only if tightened really hard, but then will no longer offer mobility.

So I got the Ergotron HX Heavy-Duty Tilt Pivot.

The result is awesome.

I therefore recommend this arm and tilt-pivot for any heavy and/or large monitor, flat or curved it won’t make a difference for this kit.
